I use this several times a day, at work and home. I'm a stickler about leaving my computer unlocked - a good security measure to get in the habit of.
To make it even quicker, I place this shortcut in my Quick Launch bar so that's it's a one-click operation.
- Right click an empty area of your desktop, choose New/Shortcut and enter this line as the command line:
- Code:
rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation
- Click Next. Name the shortcut whatever you prefer and click Finish.
- Now, let's change the icon. Right-click the shortcut and go to Properties/Shortcut/Change Icon.
In the text box, "Look for icons in this file", type:- Code:
%SystemRoot%\system32\SHELL32.dll
- Click Apply, OK - you're all done.
