Capture the Flag


Time to get the old team headbands for a classic game of CTF!



What : Capture the Flag (CTF)
Where : Dwater
When : This Saturday, November 6, 2010, Starting between 9-10 AM GMT-6*
Who : Both UoF and AoL are invited and encouraged to play.
What to Bring : Contis, PIDs, Teleport and Summon runes, 2 Seater Mount, friends you can stick in front of you for cannon fodder, and the Waiver stating you can die.

So what's going down you ask? It's pretty simple. Capture the Flag. The flag will either be one of your neighborhood friendly GM's or GA's.

Your Objective : Go reclaim the flag near the enemies' fortress and successfully take it back to your territory.

How this is accomplished. First you must go hunt down the flag in the enemies land using stealth.

*These will be on sale one (1) hour before the event for four billion gold (4,000,000,000).

Once you find the flag, request to go together on your Heroic Steed. Once secured, take the flag back to your fortress to win! In order to win, you must capture the flag three (3) times.

Misc Rules:
-You can camp the flag. The more people you stick on the flag means less to capture the enemy flag though.
-The Flag can't move or be summoned.
-If the flag dies, it is reset. So if the other team snags the flag, it is in your interest to kill the flag to make it reset.
-Also in order to get points, you need to make sure the flag you are guarding is not in enemy hands in order to score.

This can be seen by messages such as:
-AoL has the Flag.
-UoF Flag returned.
-etc.

Our very own [GM]Tipsy will be the flags for the event on both sides. However, I'm sure you all know by now that means things will get a little interesting.

Prizes:
For the winning team they will get 2 full CT spawns for the winning side, and 1 for the losing side. Also pigs and boxes will be spawned randomly.

Also there will be miscellaneous prizes like:
-Kill King -> The person who gets the most kills in the event.
-Flag King -> The person who gets the most flag captures in the event.
-etc

Waiver
I, _(insert name here)_, understand and agree that if I participate in this I will most likely die and will not QQ no matter what happens. Also I will not hold the BfDw staff accountable for anything that may happen to my toon during this event.

This is an awesome event idea. hopefully there will be a good turn out on both sides. Too bad I gotta work at 2 but ill b able to make it for a little bit

Like I said, time subject to change. It may happen in the morning instead of the afternoon.

yay. I like the idea of gm/ga as the flag, much easier to do than an item that drops. The mount poofing forces the people to fight so they can continue running after they kill the othr person

Also, if you use a town on a mount, it knocks the back person off the mount, so they have to run all the way back to the start. I love it ^.^

hey rink didn't you say something like if the person carrying the mount looses the flag I.E. knocked off mount the flag still goes back / can teh flag attaack

No the flag wont return unless it is killed. Also the flag cannot move/attack.

What if I want to be the flag?

only gm/ga can be a flag and if you really wanna be the flag then ask the gm's or ga's. own suggestion - don't be a flag. it would be boring

wheres my damn flag king award? lol jk was an awsome event gettin our ass's handed to us for a bit. big thnx to rink, tipsy mesh and every 1 else that turned out.

sounds like it was fun and btw M3sh the whole point of D-water is it's supposed to be big and a challenge

awwwww i was sooooooooo unlucky that i couldn't come i had a competition then (irl) which failed xD so my question - when will be the next event like this? would like to participate too

probably soon since it was quite successful

First, I need to get all the feedback on the event in order to make it better than it was the first time. It seems Dwater was somewhat large, so maybe we'll have an increase captures, but play in the Battle Zone where it's a bit shorter to get from gate to gate.

I think it would also help if I was there to sort some location issues out. >.> anyway glad people liked it. And maybe I'll incorporate some other events before this one runs again.

The flags should be located by the opposing factions castle too or near.
